I made a coloring book!

An analog clock reading 11:07

A printed out map zoomed in on southeast Minnesota. Winona County has been colored in with a green colored pencil. The some of the metro counties, on the edge of the image, have been colored as well.
I figure being six years late to the “adult coloring” trend is better than nothing.

I made a coloring book! It's called Color the Counties (Or Equivalents): A silly map coloring book, made using Python and shapefiles from the U.S. Census Bureau.

You can download a PDF copy or check out the online version.

I have also made available the program to make this book.

An outline map of Minnesota, showing its counties. An outline map of Oregon, showing its counties.
These images are hyperlinks to their respective pages in the online version of the coloring book. In the online version, the counties will light up if you hover your cursor of them or click on them. This can be helpful in some cases were counties are not contiguous (e.g. some Michigan counties include islands in the Great Lakes).
